ART, etc. Opening Reception and Celebration!
ART, etc. presents their newest exhibits for June & July featuring the work of Braintree landscape artist Arlene Holmes and ceramic sculptor Bill Cohn from Northfield. An Opening Reception inviting everyone will be Friday June 6, from 5-7p, perfectly timed with Randolph's First Friday events. And: we will be celebrating our 6th year of business and a wonderful reason for cake!
Bill Cohn is drawn to the earth - touching and manipulating clay inspires him. The result has been a body of sculptural work that emphasizes texture and movement. Using otherwise mundane and common artifacts of daily life – bath mats, mesh bags, bubble wrap, etc., Cohn's techniques have resulted in work that is earthy, eye-catching, and engaging.
Arlene Holmes is an artist who observes the changing atmospheric conditions that color and light have on natural forms. Her encounter with her subjects is realized through a liberated use of the oil medium. A free application of paint allows her to quickly delineate the forms of earth.
ART, etc. is an artisan craft store with two dedicated gallery spaces. Accented by an exciting array of pottery, woodwork, jewelry, iron work, glassware and an assortment of artwork from Vermont artisans, ART, etc. is truly a celebration of Vermont's beauty and artistic talents. Now open Wed-Saturday, 10-4 or 5p.
