This talk is part of Godenschwager's retrospective and final public exhibition at Chandler Gallery, 71 N. Main St in Randolph, VT. The show is on view through Sunday, September 6th, during New World Festival at Chandler. Godenschwager is a multidisciplinary artist whose work encompasses stained glass, sculpture, murals, graphic design, carpentry, and cartoon-inspired art. Raised around the world in a military family, he began painting at age eight in the Philippines and later developed his drawing skills in Greece. He earned an MFA in glass sculpture in 1993 and has operated Atlantic Art, Glass and Design in Randolph since 1988. His major projects include the animated clock tower created for FAO Schwarz and featured in the film Big, Window to the Rails at the O. Winston Link Museum, The Waterbury Special, and stained glass commissions for the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery and Burlington Public Works Department. Spanning decades of Godenschwager's work, the exhibition features a six-sided glass gazebo, a whimsical white house-themed putting green, three-dimensional sculptures, detailed ink drawings rooted in cartooning and illustration, and photographs of several large-scale public installations. Together, the works demonstrate his unusual creative range, technical skill, and ability to combine craftsmanship with humor and social commentary. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 12 to 5 PM. Admission is free. Chandler Center for the Arts, 71 North Main Street, Randolph, VT RACDC info@racdc.com America/New_York public
