Join us for the opening reception of "Art of the Book," a captivating new exhibition that reimagines books as a canvas for visual expression, Friday, September 19th from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. This impressive exhibition features the work of nine accomplished artists: Ann Joppe-Mercure, Curry Matson, Donna Stepien, Fern Strong, Joan Feierabend, JC Wayne, Nancy Stone, Susan Smereka, and Dee Christie. These artists showcase uniquely crafted books that incorporate a wide range of techniques including sketches, collage, writing, sewing, origami, mixed media, and more. Each piece transforms the conventional book format into something entirely new – works of art that are meaningful both as complete objects and on each individual page. The opening reception on Friday, September 19th from 5:30 to 7:00 PM offers the public an opportunity to meet the artists, explore the exhibition, and gain insight into the creative processes behind these innovative works. Refreshments will be served. Chandler Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12-5 PM and during performances.
