Learn to Weld!

Saturday, September 20, 2025 - 9:00am to Sunday, September 21, 2025 - 4:00pm09/20/2025 1:00pm Learn to Weld! Join us at the VTSU Randolph Campus for our 2-day Basic Welding training on Sept 20-21st! No experience necessary to join, come spend two days of hands-on learning to gain practical skills to weld with confidence! This Basic Welding training begins with welding safety training to set students up safely. You will learn MIG, STICK, and TIG welding techniques with plenty of hands-on time and instructor guidance. This training will also cover various types of metals and their properties about welding, proper tank and pressure setup, what an ideal weld should look like, and recognition of when defects occur that produce poor welds. You will also learn how to use a plasma cutter to accurately cut various types of metal. Training costs $445 AmeriCorps Segal Awards and VSAC Advancement Grants are accepted.
