ART, etc. presents their newest exhibits for October & November 2025 featuring the work of nature photographer Barbee Hauzinger and "artist-scientist" Heidi R. Albright. This exhibit features Vermont's natural beauty and sculptural creations of some of our slithery creatures! Join us for an Opening Reception, Friday Oct 3, 5-7p. featuring beverages, snacks and music. Heidi Albright grew up in Vermont wanting to be a surgeon, a poet and an artist. After completing her Master of Science degree in Biology, Albright decided to pursue her original idea of "artist-scientist." Since then, she can't take a walk in the woods without bringing home branches to create snake sculptures. Heidi's sculptures are as close to life size as possible and include natural history information for each piece. It's her hope that by capturing each snakes likeness with wood and paint, she will spark curiosity for - rather than fear of - these beautiful animals. What you see in Barbee Hauzinger's photographs is what you would have witnessed had you been with her when the image was taken: moments that are real, honest, and true. Natural light plays a central role in Hauzinger's pieces—a rawness that reveals the genuine emotion and atmosphere of each scene: the glint of dew on a spider's web, frost gathering on the edge of a leaf, the slow grace of a tiny snail—these are the kinds of quiet wonders that unfold when we pause to notice. Barbee's aim is to let these moments resonate with sincerity, capturing the quiet magic of life exactly as it reveals itself in the natural world.
