The Annual 4th of July Duck Race brings together families, local businesses, and visitors for a festive 4th of July celebration—all while supporting a great cause. Ticket sales & Sponsorships go toward our efforts in providing hunter & bowhunter education courses, hosting an annual kids fishing derby, covering registration fees for several youth to attend Green Mountain Conservation Camp each year as well as maintaining our regular programs. Field - Right after the Parade Ducks cost $5.00 each (you will get a ticket with the number of your duck on it) HOW IT WORKS: ~ there are no motorized ducks ~ race starts around 2:30 pm ~ ducks are released up stream in the river by a RFGC member ~ finish line is just before the walking bridge (Be there to see if your duck wins) ~ there will be RFGC members to judge which ducks cross the finish line first ~ audience members, duck race ticket holders and sponsors are welcome to join us in cheering on the ducks but are not allowed to interfere with their travel down the river ~ the first three ducks are collected by the judges as they pass the finish line, the judges' decisions are final ~ you do not have to be present to win ~ 1st place wins $350; 2nd place wins $150; 3rd place wins a mystery prize SPONSORED DUCKS (decorated) ~ do not go down the river ~ they will be on display at our booth at the Rec Field after the Parade ~ vote for your favorite decorated sponsored duck, it's free to vote
