Shirley MacLaine, Snow, Planes, & Vermont on the Brain

Sunday, February 1, 2026 - 6:00pm to 8:30pm02/01/2026 11:00pm Shirley MacLaine, Snow, Planes, & Vermont on the Brain Well neighbors, Vermont is calling… and I'm currently stuck in Los Angeles trying to answer. ❄️✈️ I'm staying at a friend's place near Vermont Avenue (yes, that's actually the street name—feels a little cosmic), while flights may be delayed, rerouted, or side-eying me—but I'm on my way back. All kidding aside, I hope everyone has been able to weather the storm safely. I can't wait to be home in time for Sunday's Hollywood, VT screening of Alfred Hitchcock's 1955 The Trouble with Harry at the Playhouse starring Shirley MacLaine in her first film role with John Forsythe, Edmund Gwenn, and a host of character actors. The film was mostly shot in Vermont until the weather messed things up with the foliage-- however the film did have its world premiere in Barre stars and director in attendance! The evening starts at 6 PM and stick around after the film for some lemonade and we will showcase some materials from the film's Vermont premiere courtesy of the Vermont Historical Society, movie themed artwork by local artivist Rachi Farrow will be on display, and a small run of commemorative artwork created for the evening by Hettie Stearns will be available for sale. MAKE A DATE TO JOIN US: Tickets can be pre-purchased on the Playhouse Website or You can copy/paste this link into your browser: https://checkout.square.site/merchant/EJPT1528495TH/checkout/6THGBQAO45JSKOIP5NNHU5QZ See you Sunday at the Playhouse. Alia PS Tom at the Playhouse tells me we have received the VERSION WITH CAPTIONS from the distributor! No missing that fast paced dialogue written by John Michael Hayes (who later taught at Dartmouth!) Randolph, VT RACDC info@racdc.com America/New_York public
