Friday, July 14, 2023 - 10:30pm07/15/2023 2:30am Tai Chi for Balance - Free Class from CVCA A FREE beginner level Falls Prevention Tai Chi Class led by Cherie Landi, certified Tai Chi Vermont Volunteer Instructor, will be held at the Randolph Senior Center on Fridays, from 10:30 to 11:30 am starting on May 26. Often described as "Meditation in Motion," Falls Prevention Tai Chi is a low impact program proven to reduce the risk of falls and arthritis pain, increase muscular strength and decrease depression, anxiety and osteoporosis. It includes a variety of movements and forms that work thru fall prevention strategies of weight transference, mindfulness and balance. The sessions include slow, gentle range of motion exercises that are suitable for every fitness level and ability. Participants will be learning a form and will benefit the most if they can start at the beginning and attend weekly. These enjoyable and motivational classes may be taken either standing or sitting in a chair. AmeriCorps Seniors and the Central Vermont Council on Aging are excited to partner with the Randolph Senior Center to offer this wellness class.
